For people who swear self-pity, the idea of Christianity offers them closure, a rationalized conclusion, at the end of the pathway of the individuals subconscious. In their eyes, the idea of Christianity affords them some level of higher status in spite of appearance their community, which they would not otherwise be able to attain.
